Gluten Free
Celiac disease is a genetic disorder that affects 1 in 133
Americans. Individuals suffering from this disorder have an
intolerance to the protein gluten and must eliminate it from
their diet.
In terms of beauty care, there is mixed literature on whether
celiacs should use gluten free beauty products. Some
celiacs find that when they use products containing gluten
they have a skin irritation or may develop little bumps on the
surface of their skin.
At Herbology all products are made with wheat/gluten free
ingredients. In addition, all the equipment and instruments
that are used at Herbology are designated wheat/gluten
free to ensure there is no gluten contamination.
Cruelty Free
We believe that animals are our partners on this planet.
Accordingly, we have a strict policy of not testing on
animals at any stage of development. All of our products
meet PETA's guidelines for cruelty free products.
We believe beauty products can and should be vegan.
This means we do not use ingredients in which the animal
has to be sacrificed (carmine, chitosan), ingredients
derived from animals (lanolin) or produced by an animal
(beeswax, milk, honey, silk).
